Get ready for a late summer celebration of food and entertainment at the Great Park’s Palm Court on Friday, August 19th. Irvine has teamed up with events management company PSQ Productions to hold its inaugural Irvine Nights event. Featuring food vendors, carnival games, and a live Elton John tribute band, it offers fun for the whole family.

“LA is a foodie city, but Irvine is poised to be the next great foodie city,” says PSQ Productions’s Marketing Manager, Jessica Strydom.

The focus of Irvine Nights is primarily the food, and there will be plenty to choose from with over over twenty food vendors. Strydom is especially excited about Chicken Charlies. She looks forward to ordering their pineapple chicken bowl as well as their fried Oreos, which she says Chicken Charlies invented.

The event also promises entertainment, and selecting which band to perform was crucial to the success of Irvine Nights. Strydom has attended previous performances by Kenny Metcalf, an Elton John tribute performer, and she cannot wait to introduce him to Irvine.

“The first decision we made was to get Kenny Metcalf,” explains Strydom. “He’s an incredible act. You forget that he’s not the real Elton. He’s doing a 90 minute set and he’ll play all of Elton John’s favorites.”

Other entertainment will include carnival games, inflatables, a face painter, and a balloon artist. While the kids go nuts with games, adults can shop at a variety of retail booths. Irvine and PSQ anticipate between two and three thousand attendees and hope that Irvine Nights will become an annual event for our city.

Doors open at 5 pm. Kenny Metcalf’s band will perform from 6:30 to 8 pm. Admission is $5. Inflatables and carnival games are available for $2 per game or unlimited games can be purchased for $10. Game tickets can be purchased on site but admission tickets must be purchased online.
