Two major new entertainment experiences are about to tee off at the Irvine Spectrum Center. Funlab, the global creator behind “competitive socializing” venues, has announced that Holey Moley Golf Club and the first-ever U.S. location of Hijinx Hotel will open December 12, 2025.

Spanning 35,000 square feet in the heart of the Spectrum, the pair of attractions will bring a mix of immersive mini golf, interactive challenge rooms, themed lounges, and full-service dining to one of Orange County’s busiest entertainment destinations.

“We’re thrilled to debut Hijinx Hotel to the U.S. for the very first time, and to bring Holey Moley to Orange County,” said Michael Schreiber, CEO of Funlab. “Our mission at Funlab is to create immersive, unforgettable adventures that can be shared. These new concepts deliver exactly that, combining playful creativity with social connection in ways that truly reimagine what entertainment looks like in a retail environment.”

Funlab currently operates more than 50 locations across Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. Holey Moley already has a presence in several cities including Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Denver, San Francisco, and Santa Monica, but this will be its first Orange County location.

Fans of traditional mini golf should leave their assumptions at the door. Holey Moley is known for its 27 outrageously themed holes, each designed as an immersive set filled with neon lighting, nostalgic pop culture references, and tongue-in-cheek surprises.

The experience blends bright visuals with offbeat humor, allowing players to putt their way through surreal surroundings that nod to cultural icons from the ’80s, ’90s, and beyond. According to Funlab, the venue is built for all skill levels, from casual players to groups seeking a quirky night out.

Holey Moley also features a full bar and restaurant, serving themed cocktails and shareable bites. Visitors can grab a drink before starting their game or keep the fun going afterward.

Right next door, the new Hijinx Hotel will introduce something entirely new to American audiences. It is designed to resemble a hotel, complete with bellhops but it doesn’t function as a place for overnight stays. Instead, Hijinx Hotel houses fifteen challenge rooms, each featuring an interactive scored game in an intricately decorated, Instagram-ready environment.

Guests can expect a playful blend of carnival funhouse energy and creative puzzle-style challenges built for two to six players. The goal isn’t just to win but to immerse yourself in each room’s distinct world. The whimsical set pieces and eye-catching décor are crafted with content creators in mind.

Hijinx Hotel will also include three private karaoke lounges with mood lighting and a diverse song library. Food and drinks are available from its speakeasy-style bar and restaurant, Suite 404.
